I'm hoping to go to Uni in the US in a year or 2's time and i'm not sure how it works exactly. Also how are you affording tuition?

I applied to a bunch of colleges. You have to fill out a long form and write an essay for each college, but my Mom was nice enough to fill out most of the forms ;D. I applied to UConn (since I live in Connecticut), Drexel, Marist, Pratt, Massart, RISD, and Syracuse. I got into all of them but RISD and I'm going to Marist (it's in New York). Selena's going to Drexel (in Philadelphia , so far away!). I worked hard in high school and did well on the SAT's, so I got a lot of merit-based scholarship (based on your grades). I also applied to A LOT of scholarships, so hopefully I'll get more help that way. Good luck with your college search, pickle .

CONGRADULATIONS ON GRADUATING TODAY!!! :-)
If i'm correct, your both studying fashion design..? How creative and exciting! And it must be hard to be seperating, but if theres any time to experience new things then it's definetly college. How far is Marist from the city? (and congrats on the scholarships!)
I'm (almost) a junior, so in a couple months i'll start looking at colleges. Boy I would have loved to go to NYU, but their WAY too expensive and it's extremely hard to get in. But i'm looking at schools with strong journalism programs because that's what I want to do. Sorta a free lance thing, try Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City (though I know my life wouldn't be like that! Journalists are like actors-- they have to go threw years of the shi.tty work to get to a point they want to be at). So I was thinking about Syracuse-- they have a great journalism program. And Uni of Maryland. All I know for sure is I want to be in a city. I grew up in a small town and I want a new experience.
How are the systems of school in Mexico? I know in Europe their WAY different then in the US, but I have no idea how they work in Mexico.

^Thanks emmz, merikeit, and emily! Yes, I'm studying fashion design, and so is Selena. And I'm very excited ;D. pickle, it's great that you're considering fashion design! Though it's not important that you decide right away. I went to my orientation recently and there were so many kids who were still undecided . I'm curious about the different school systems in different countries like Mexico too. Like emily said, I'm not sure how they work...

well, for example, here you don't have to write an essay for the school you apply to, which is kind of interesting to me. In the universities in here they just make you a general knowledge test, and that's about it, from what i know of. And there aren't many schools for each career, which sometimes makes everything harder. If i'm not wrong, sometimes in some universities in USA they give you various subjects until you decide which you like more...? i'm not sure...but what really makes the difference is the essay thing.
I want to study fashion design too! ;D i love that... do any of you know, what is it that i have to do if i want to study in NY for example, if i live here in mexico?

you'd have to take the SATs if you dont do them in Mexico. i'll have to take them too if i decide to go to america. you have to apply early if your international.
im thinking fashion design, fashion journalism for me. ill probably do a masters in that though and study regular english with art or something first.

If you're applying as an international student to an American school, you will most likely have to take the TOEFL instead of the SATs. I was a college counselor's assistant for my senior year of high school so I know a little bit more about applying and what not.
Congrats to everyone who got in to colleges. It's a grueling process and it's nice to get in, isn't it? and good luck to everyone who are going to be starting the process soon!
