I don't own one, but they are very chic. They were made famous by many style icons and are still a part of a fashionable woman's wardrobe. What do you think?

I think they can look nice in different colors, but not in khaki.

okay suddenly i've decided i like them, i think i decided yesterday. i don't know why it just suddenly came to me, i want a trench coat (maybe i saw an outfit that i really liked involving a trenchcoat - i dunno) anyway i'd better get one quickly. i like them in a cream colour.
(this happens to me all the time i suddenly decide that i have to have something and that's it. it's why i spend so much money.)

At first, I don't really like something, and then I suddenly want it .

just out of interest what kind of coats do you guys wear? at the beginning of winter my mum bought me a black peacoat (like ashley's but longer) and i've never really grown to love it - mainly because everyone around here has one and it's so boring. i was thinking about getting a trenchcoat type thing because they can be quite thin and light as it's getting into spring i feel like it's a bit of a waste investing in a coat that i'm not gong to wear for very long. what do you guys think?

I think a good trenchcoat is a good investment because it's classic ;D, so you can wear it years later. Right now, I'm wearing this tan coat with a fake fur-lined hood and puffy orange interior lining. I know that sounds really ugly, but it doesn't look that bad in person .

^That's a good idea. If you don't love it, you shouldn't spend too much. But, you're gonna have to tell me if you end up winning it .

hmm now i'm worried because i'm not sure if the burberry lining might clash with my outfits

I don't think you'll really be able to see the lining when you wear it, especially if you keep it belted .

I agree with this completely... especially since I own 4 trenches! (But that's just because I have an obsession with jackets).
I also like to wear a nice short trench with a beater shirt and some shorts and sandals for the summer days that are a little cooler. Or if I'm going to the mall of the park, it gets cold in shady areas. And I can wear them in the winter if I layer with a sweater... and it's not TOO cold out. So, it's an ALL season piece.
